Spagnuolo-AJ Feeley the Starter Today
St. Louis Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo appeared on ESPN 101 in St.Louis and had a few things to say about the current state of the Rams.

When Spags was asked about the starting quarterback situation in St. Louis, he replied, “if we play tomorrow it would be AJ Feeley”. Feeley, 33, is a journeyman quarterback signed this spring to the Rams club. It’s expected that he’ll start the season for the Rams, eventually giving way to Sam Bradford.
The Rams head coach was also asked about whether or not he was concerned about the running back situation for the Rams this season. “I am not and I’m going to give you….The number one reason is obviously thirty-nine because we have a lot of confidence in him and he is a workhorse.”
It remains to be seen just how much of a workhorse he can be in the coming weeks. Jackson is of course recovering from surgery to repair a herniated disk in his back. He claims he played through the pain with the injury last year and elected to have the surgery this offseason. Jackson has been the only bright spot on an otherwise dismal club for several years and could be ready for a possible slowing down of production.
Is Steven Jackson done?
Is Steven Jackson, the running back and only superstar on the St. Louis Rams roster finished as an elite back in the NFL? Rams fans hope not, but he has touched the ball 1,829 times in 6 years and now has undergone off season back surgery. Back surgery and NFL running back are two things that don’t flow perfectly in a sentence.
St. Louis clears two for workouts
The St. Louis Rams announced this afternoon that 2 keys players have recovered enough from injury that they are cleared for practice. OT Jason Smith is medically cleared to participate in all offseason workouts. He will be moving over to left tackle this season, replacing recently traded Alex Barron.

WR Laurent Robinson has also been cleared and perhaps no one is happier than QB Sam Bradford. Robinson only recorded three games with the Rams last season before being lost to injury. Robinson is a large frame at 6’2″ 200 pounds and gives Bradford a serious receiving threat. He should be remembered at draft time as he should fall to the later rounds but if he stays healthy, will be a fantasy contributor.
Rams preparing trade
According to Adam Schefter, via Twitter, the St Louis Rams are preparing to trade OT Alex Barron to the Dallas Cowboys for LB Bobby Carpenter.
Carpenter is entering his 5th NFL Season. He is 6’2″ 250 pounds and an Ohio State alumni. In his career, Carpenter has recorded 96 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
